Have you ever examined the emotion love? Have you looked at through the eyes of another? Have you examined what it looks like through your own eyes? You know how it feels, tastes, and smells, but what about looks?
In this body of work, we have a mixture of poems and stories that examine love. The examination does not focus on the touch or taste alone, but what it looks like as well. It focuses on the embodiment of the emotion and how we wear the look of love. We do get to feel the love pouring over the pages. It caresses, steams, wraps around you and your senses, and it ultimately makes you feel. It is almost overpowering the love falling on the pages, but you cannot help but to embrace the sensual emotion as it envelops you.
As we continue to read not only does the love flow from the pages but we also feel the individual relationship the author has with God. She puts relationships, questions, and concerns before him about love, men, relationship, etc. to ensure that she is not moving outside of his will. It’s an interesting concept to do in a book. The way it is mixed in lets you know that it is not all about the physical but the mental and emotional as well.
I am giving this work four stars for the sensual wordplay that jumped off the pages. I found myself relating to a lot of the words and it was refreshing to relate on such a level. It was also wonderful to showcase the individual relationship of God and love.
